Obama and the Veterans Ball
Everyone seems to be up in arms over Obama skipping the American Legion sponsored Salute to America’s Heroes inaugural ball, do a Google search about it there seems to be hundreds of blogs and forums bitching about Obama skipping it.
However, I noticed, other than blogs and forums, no one seems to notice, not even Fox News which we know hates Obama (See my last post) are reporting this. No major news sources, and other than Bush’s 2005 Inauguration there doesn’t even seem to be any information about this ball even though the blogs claim every president in 56 years has been there.
Even the American Legion makes no mention of this Ball, I know if I was throwing a hugely popular Inaugural Ball visited by every American President in 56 years, I’d at least mention it. There was an Inaugural Ball held by the American Legion called the Veterans Inaugural Ball, but it was canceled.
There is no mention of this Ball, Obama not attending, or Biden attending on the official American Legion website: http://www.legion.org
In fact, the only mention I can even find of this ball from a site other than blogs and forums is about Bush attending the Ball in 2005 on the US Department of Defense website
So all the bloggers and forums are probably 100% right, Obama probably didn’t go to the Salute to American Heroes Ball. No one else did either, not even the veterans or sponsors of the ball. Because there was no Ball.
This ball is not listed on the list of the 10 Official Balls:
